The plaintiff complained of a palpable lump in her breast to her gynecologist. A mammogram and ultrasound were performed and read as negative. Results of the tests, including the fact that the plaintiff had complained of a palpable abnormality, were sent to her gynecologist. Mammograms were done over the next several years and were read as negative. Three years after she had initially felt the lump, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, metastatic to the spine.
