The U.S. Food and Drug Administration classified a batch of recently recalled vegetable products under the category of a high-risk “Class I” recall.
According to the agency, a “Class I” recall is the highest possible risk category of recall classified by the FDA.
This means that there is “a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death,” according to the FDA.
The recalled vegetables that fall under this classification include:
- Supreme Grilling Veggies 19-ounce (with UPC 8-50053-68584)
- Supreme Vegetable Kabobs 27-ounce (UPC 8-50053-68585)
- Supreme Vegetable Bowl 26-ounce (UPC 8-60010-50713)
- Supreme Peppers Tri Blend 8-ounce (UPC 8-50053-68534)
- Supreme Jalapenos Diced 7-ounce (UPC 8-50053-68536)
- Supreme Peppers W/Onions 7-ounce (UPC 8-50053-68538)
- Supreme Peppers Snacking 12-ounce (UPC 8-50053-68553)
The Class I recall products were distributed across Kroger stores in Indiana.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall or with the update. The FDA is warning those who may still have the product to discard it immediately and not eat it.
