Mangoes Sold in NJ Recalled Over Salmonella Concerns

Panorama Produce is recalling hundreds of boxes of mangoes distributed to select Walmart stores in New Jersey and three other states because of possible Salmonella contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The voluntary recall involves 302 boxes of size 9 mangoes distributed between Aug. 10 and Aug. 21 in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.

The recalled mangoes were sold at select Walmart stores, according to the FDA.

The mangoes were packaged in Martina-branded cases. Individual mangoes can be identified by a light blue sticker labeled “Agrofepac” and “Produce of Mexico,” along with PLU number 4584 and UPC 07503061948050.

The recall was initiated after FDA sampling detected Salmonella in mangoes grown on the same farm as the recalled fruit. The mangoes that tested positive were not distributed in U.S. commerce, but because they came from the same source as the recalled mangoes, Panorama Produce initiated the recall.

Outshine Fruit Bars have been voluntarily recalled by their parent company after the FDA said it found shards of glass in its products.

Outshine's owners, Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, say that the contamination is restricted to only select Outshine bar flavors: strawberry, watermelon, grape, tangerine, and black cherry. The recall applies to the 6-packs of 2.5 ounce fruit bars, as well as the 24 count of 2.5 ounce bars.

Outshine bars have been distributed to supermarkets, grocers, and retailers around New Jersey and nationwide. "Dreyer’s is taking this action out of an abundance of caution following consumer reports of glass found in the product," the FDA said in a statement.

"No illnesses or injuries have been reported to date. Anyone concerned about an injury should contact a healthcare provider immediately. Consumers who have purchased the affected product should dispose of it or return it to their place of purchase for a full refund," the FDA said.

Conair Expands Cuisinart Grill Brush Recall

Conair is expanding a recall of Cuisinart metal wire-bristle grill brushes after reports that bristles detached and, in some cases, were swallowed by consumers.

The recall now covers about 3.6 million brushes, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. About 1.9 million additional brushes were added Thursday to the nearly 1.72 million recalled in July.

Small metal bristles can detach from the brushes and stick to grills or food, creating an ingestion hazard and a risk of serious internal injuries that could require surgery.

Conair is aware of at least 54 reports and reviews involving detached bristles. Three consumers swallowed metal bristles and sought medical treatment to have them removed from their digestive tracts or throats, according to the CPSC.

The expanded recall covers all Cuisinart wire-bristle grill brushes, including numerous models sold individually and as part of grill tool sets. The brushes were sold at Walmart, Burlington, TJ Maxx and Ross, as well as online through Amazon and Cuisinart, from June 2009 through March 2026 for between $8 and $20.
