NJ Based Dynarex Corp. Recalls Baby Powder Over Asbestos Concern

New Jersey-based company Dynarex Corporation, has expanded it’s recent baby powder recall to include more products due to asbestos contamination, according to the FDA.

The recall, originally issued on Sept. 18, 2024, now affects 35 states and includes an additional 373 cases of 14 oz. bottles Dynacare Baby Powder, and 647 cases of 4 oz. bottles Dynacare Baby Powder.

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that is often found near talc and is an ingredient in many cosmetic products.

The product was sent to distributors 35 states: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, NE, NJ, NM, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI and sold online on at Amazon.com, on or after Jan. 18, 2024.

Consumers who purchased the product with item number 4875, or 4878, Batch Numbers B 048 to B 060, are urged to discontinue use immediately and return it for a full refund.

The baby powder 4875 is packaged in 14 oz. plastic bottles, 24 bottles to a case and the baby powder 4874 is packaged in 4 oz. plastic bottles, 48 bottles to a case.

The recall was the outcome of routine check by the FDA. The company has halted all production of the product and continues to investigate the contamination.
