Einstein Bros. Bagels Recalls Cream Cheese Over Undeclared Allergen

by | Mar 31, 2026 | Product Liability

If you bought cream cheese from Einstein Bros. Bagels lately and have a nut allergy, you might want to reconsider which cream cheese you consume.

Schreiber Foods, Inc. of Green Bay, Wisconsin, is voluntarily recalling 144 cases of Honey Almond Cream Cheese Spread sold under the Einstein Bros. Bagels brand because the product may contain undeclared almonds, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The undeclared almonds may pose a risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reactions for people with almond allergies.

The affected product is a 6-ounce plastic cup with a lid correctly labeled as “Honey Almond” but a cup incorrectly labeled as “Plain,” suggesting it contains no almonds.

The recall was initiated after a shipment of product with mismatched lids and cups were discovered, and a subsequent investigation determined the issue stemmed from a limited packaging staging error that has since been corrected.

It carries a lot code of “Best If Used By Jul 21, 2026 LO” on the bottom, according to the FDA.

If you or a loved one has suffered losses due to consuming these or any Einstein Bros. Bagels products, you may be entitled to compensation. To learn more, contact the trusted personal injury attorneys at Breslin and Breslin today.
