Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Recalls Popular Blood Pressure Med

by | Dec 29, 2025 | Product Liability

A pharmaceutical company that has headquarters in North Jersey has recalled a blood pressure medication because of cross-contamination with another drug.

Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, based in Elmwood Park, recalled multiple lots of its product known as Ziac.

Ziac is a bisoprolol fumarate and hydrochlorothiazide yellow tablet used to offset hypertension, otherwise known as high blood pressure.

The recall went into effect on Dec. 1, with 11,136 bottles were retracted, said the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The FDA labeled the recall as having a lower-level Class III risk, in which use “is not likely to cause adverse health consequences.”

The product potentially mixed with ezetimibe, a cholesterol drug. The recall said traces of ezetimibe were found in reserve samples of Ziac.

Bottles of the drug come in doses ranging from 2.5 mg to 6.25 mg. The product was available in a 30-count, 100-count or 500-count bottle.

The specific lots recalled were Lot 17232401, exp. 11/2025, and Lot 17240974, exp. 05/2026.

If you or a loved one suffered losses due to ingesting this or any Glenmark drug, you may be entitled to compensation. To learn more, contact the trusted attorneys at Breslin and Breslin today.
