Popular Cookware Sold in NJ Recalled Over Lead Concern

by | Nov 23, 2025 | Personal Injury, Product Liability

A piece of cookware sold across the tri-state has been recalled due to potential lead poisoning from the food cooked inside, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

Brooklyn-based Shata Traders Inc. issued a recall of its Chef Brand 24-centimeter Milk Pan due to the potential of “significant levels” of lead contamination.

The FDA says the amount of lead could seep into the food cooked in the pan, causing elevated levels of lead in the blood of those who eat it.

“Even low levels of lead exposure can cause serious health problems, particularly in children and fetuses,” the recall said.

The 24cm pan sold in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Virginia and Massachusetts comes in a six-piece set.
