NJ Affected by Massive FDA Cinnamon Recall

by | Oct 26, 2025 | Personal Injury, Product Liability

The Food and Drug Administration expanded its recall for cinnamon containing elevated lead levels to New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut on Thursday.

Various cinnamon brands sold across numerous retailers in the tri-state area have been identified, according to the FDA.

“Through product testing by state programs and confirmed by the FDA, the FDA has determined that the ground cinnamon products listed in the table below contain elevated levels of lead, and exposure to these products may be unsafe,” the recall page states. “The FDA is advising consumers to throw away and not to buy these ground cinnamon products.”

The FDA states that if these products contain elevated lead levels, it could lead to increased blood lead levels. Long-term intake may lead to health problems, especially for those already exposed to lead from other sources.
