A recall has been issued for multiple lots of Sprout Organics baby food pouches that were sold in numerous states, including New Jersey.
A first voluntary recall was issued by Sprouts Organics on Sept. 16 with one lot of sweet potato, apple and spinach baby food pouches listed. On Sept. 23 the company expanded its voluntary recall to include three more lots of the same baby food pouches.
Lots were recalled as they “may contain elevated levels of lead,” according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, aka FDA.
Sprout Organics filed a recall after routine sampling of products revealed that certain lots of baby food may contain significant levels of lead.
