Endico Potatoes Inc. is recalling “Peas and Carrots” and “Mixed Vegetables” frozen vegetable bags after potential listeria contamination.
They were distributed in several states between July 18 and August. Those states include New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Maryland and Florida, as well as Washington D.C.
The State of Pennsylvania tested product samples and found them to be positive for Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and those with compromised or weakened immune systems.
Listeria can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths, and healthy individuals may still suffer from symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
Endico has ceased distribution as they work with the FDA to discover the source of the contamination.
If you or a loved one has suffered losses due to consuming this or any Endico product, you may be entitled to compensation. To learn more, contact the trusted personal injury attorneys at Breslin and Breslin today.
