A major car manufacturer is recalling tens of thousands of their midsize sedans on the market after it was found that the parking lights are not illuminating properly.
Kia filed a notice with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) detailing that their 2025 Kia K5 line may have lights that flicker, reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. A total of 82,821 sedans are affected.
A software error within the Power-net Domain Controller (PDC) must be updated to remedy the issue. Kia says this will be free of charge, and done by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update.
