Target Recalls Popular Baby Food Over Elevated Lead Levels

by | Apr 27, 2025 | Personal Injury, Product Liability

Target is recalling more than 25,000 tubs of baby food because the products may contain elevated levels of lead, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Fruselva USA, a Miami-based company, issued a voluntary recall of 25,600 units of Good & Gather baby Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree, which was sold in 4-ounce containers and distributed to Target stores nationwide.

There are 52 Target locations in New Jersey, according to the company’s website.

According to the FDA, the recalled products had lot numbers 4169 and 4167, a best-by date of Dec. 7 and Dec. 9, 2025, and UPC code 1 91907-99314 1. The tubs bear the phrases “Distributed by Target Corporation, Minneapolis, MN 55403” and “Product of Colombia.”

The recalled baby food was marketed for babies 6 months and older.

On April 3, the FDA classified the recall as Class II, meaning that “use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” according to the agency.

If a loved one has suffered losses due to consuming this, or any Target product, you may be entitled to compensation. To learn more, contact the trusted personal injury attorneys at Breslin and Breslin today.
