Woolite Recalls Popular Detergent Over Bacteria Concern

by | Mar 27, 2025 | Personal Injury, Product Liability

Over 16,000 units of Woolite Delicates laundry detergent were voluntarily recalled by the brand after it was discovered that they could potentially be contaminated with the bacteria Pseudomonas, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The 50-ounce bottles were sold exclusively on Amazon in January and feature a light pink label and cap. Pseudomonas is a group of bacteria commonly found in soil and water.

The type to most commonly cause infections among humans is Pseudomonas aeruginosa, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Infections can occur throughout the body—in the blood, lungs, urinary tract, digestive tract, and more—depending on physical exposure, and symptoms vary depending on the infection location.

The potentially contaminated detergent bottles pose the most risk to people with weakened immune systems or those with external medical devices, the recall stated. Those without external medical devices or weakened immune systems are less likely to become ill if exposed.

If you or a loved one has suffered losses due to using this, or any, Woolite product, you may be entitled to compensation. To learn more, contact the trusted personal injury attorneys at Breslin and Breslin today.
