The Hyundai Motor Company has issued a safety recall for two of its most popular models.
The company has issued a recall for the 2025 Santa Cruz pickup and Tucson SUV models due to issues with wiring in the transmission that can cause the vehicles to roll away when parked, with over 42,000 potentially affected, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Of the 42,465 vehicles that are part of the recall, the vast majority, over 35,500, are Tucson models.
The main culprit of the recall is improperly routed wiring located near the transmission shift lever that could contact the shift lever lock and move the vehicle out of park without the brake pedal being pressed, causing the car to roll away, according to the recall notice.
Hyundai stated that owners can continue to drive these affected models, but advised them to set their parking brake before exiting the vehicle.
If you or a loved one has suffered losses due to operating these, or any, Hyundai models, you may be entitled to compensation. To learn more, contact Breslin and Breslin today.
