Jeep Recalls Nearly 100k Wranglers

by | Jul 31, 2024 | Firm News

The National Highway Transportation Safety Agency is opening a recall investigation into 94,000 Jeep Wrangler vehicles due to engine failure.

The investigation comes after the agency received dozens of complaints related to Jeep Wrangler vehicles that fell outside the parameters of an earlier recall in 2022.

The recall investigation was opened Friday “to assess the severity of the alleged defect” as well as how effective the remedy was for the previous recall.

In November 2022, the NHTSA announced a recall of just over 63,000 Jeep Wrangler 4xe vehicles in the 2021-2023 model years.

At the time of the recall, the agency warned about a loss of engine power while driving. Jeep provided a software update to fix the issue at the time, but complaints kept coming. The complaints comprised of vehicles that were covered under the recall as well as vehicles that fell outside the scope of the 2022 recall.

However, the NHTSA noted that the number of complaints coming in outside of the 2022 recall were much higher. The agency notes that 94,275 model year 2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xes fall under the recall investigation, as well as all vehicles that were part of the 2022 recall.

If you or a loved one has suffered losses due to driving one of the above listed Jeep models, you may be entitled to compensation. To learn more, contact the trusted personal injury attorneys at Breslin and Breslin today.
