by | Jun 30, 2024 | Personal Injury, Product Liability

Costco is recalling 567,000 portable chargers after two homes reportedly caught fire and caused $165,000 in property damage total.

The myCharge POWER HUB All-In-One devices can overheat and catch fire, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the recall.

The department store was aware of the two fires and the property damage it caused, but there were 120 additional reports of the chargers overheating.

Costco also received 115 returns of those same chargers, with customers reporting melting, expanding, smoking, fire, burning, exploding or sparking from the devices, according to the company.

The product was sold exclusively at Costco stores nationwide and on Costco.com between January 2022 and November 2023 for about $40.

If you or a loved one has suffered losses due to using these, or any, Costco product, you may be entitled to compensation. To find out more, contact the trusted attorneys at Breslin and Breslin today.
