More than 50 protein and nutritional shakes are being recalled and removed from store shelves due to the presence of microbial contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Lyons Magnus LLC, the products’ manufacturer, said the shakes were contaminated with Cronobacter sakazakii, a harmful bacteria that can cause urinary tract infections among other symptoms.
The company sold them under several brand names, including Glucerna, Premier Protein, Aloha and Oatly.
