Over 13K Pounds of Frozen Pizza Recalled Over Metal Concern

More than 13,000 pounds of Home Run Inn brand of frozen pizzas have been recalled due to potential metal pieces in the food, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

The USDA officially recalled the 13,099 33.5-ounce packages of Home Run Inn Chicago’s Premium Pizzeria Deluxe Sausage Classic frozen pizzas on Sunday, Aug. 14.

The products were manufactured on June 6 and have a sell-by date of Dec. 3, 2022.

The products have an establishment number of “EST. 18498-A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

According to the USDA, the company discovered the problem when the distributor received complaints from consumers reporting that metal was embedded in the pizza.
