Over 5 Million Contingo Water Bottles Recalled Over Choking Hazard

On Behalf of | Sep 18, 2019 | (client-fulfilled) Personal Injury

Breslin and Breslin is reporting that more than 5 million Contigo Kids Cleanable water bottles have been recalled after customers reported spouts were coming off in children’s mouths, posing a choking hazard, the company announced Tuesday.

Contigo received 149 reports of spouts detaching, including 18 that came off in children’s mouths, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall report.

The commission said the recall only includes bottles with a black base and cover over the clear, silicone spout. “Contigo” is printed on the rim and near the bottom of the bottle.

These bottles were sold individually and in packs of two or three, both online and at national retailers such as Costco, Walmart and Target, the commission said. They were sold between April 2018 and June 2019.

The safety commission says parents should immediately stop using the bottles and take them away from children.

Customers can contact Contigo for inspection instructions and to receive a free replacement lid.

If you or a loved one has suffered an injury due to this, or any, Contigo product, you may be entitled to compensation for your losses. Contact the trusted personal injury attorneys at Breslin and Breslin today for a free consultation.
