Nissan Versa Recalled Over Faulty Springs

On Behalf of | Oct 5, 2015 | Product Liability

The New Jersey product liability attorneys at Breslin and Breslin are reporting that several examples of the Nissan Versa are subjected to a recall. This has been announced recently and it is said that these cars may have an issue with the front coil springs, which may fracture, because the road salt may corrode them. If this happens, the risk of a crash will increase.

The NHTSA says that the Nissan Versa vehicles mentioned here are from the 2007 to 2012 model year and they have been produced between the 8th of May, 2006, and the 12th of November, 2012. The cars have been sold or registered in the District of Columbia, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Owners of the above mentioned vehicles will be contacted by Nissan in the near future as the recall is expected to begin in mid-November, 2015. The company’s dealers will be making the necessary repairs / replacements free of charge. However, if you happen to own such a car and you would like to know more about the topic, than you can contact the Nissan Customer Service at 1-800 647 7261 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888 327 4236.
