The Northern New Jersey car accident attorneys at Breslin and Breslin are reporting that Fiat Chrysler is telling people to stop driving the 2015 models of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango.
The automobile manufacturer says a suspension malfunction causes instability in the rear of the car and reduces braking power.
About 7,700 vehicles are included in the latest recall.
Fiat Chrysler will contact about 65 customers via phone call to arrange an at-home inspection of their car.
The remaining cars included in the recall are still on their way to dealerships, or parked on dealership lots.
Customers who have cars included in the recall will be provided with a loaner car by Chrysler.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has a hearing later this week to discuss whether Fiat Chrysler failed to quickly notify customers and fix vehicles in 20 previous recalls.
Fiat Chrysler is defending their performance.
