Three people were killed Wednesday on Interstate 280 when a dump truck collided with multiple vehicles, causing one car to burst into flames.
The truck was traveling eastbound in East Orange when according to reports the driver lost control and crashed into five other vehicles. The car that burst into flames was carrying a driver and two passengers, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. Four other people sustained minor injuries, including the driver of the truck.
A short time later, another fatal crash occurred less than one mile from the scene of the first accident. According to reports, a van drove into the back of a tractor-trailer, killing the van driver.
