The New Jersey personal injury attorneys at Breslin and Breslin are saddened to hear this week that a 45-year-old North Bergen man was killed after a car crashed into a construction site on the Garden State Parkway where he was working. According to reports, a Ford Explorer traveling northbound on the Parkway crossed from the middle lane to the right lane where the construction site was assembled, crashing into workers, machinery and a parked vehicle. A second worker is being treated for moderate injuries at the Bayshore Community Hospital. As of this morning, the accident is still under investigation.

Unfortunately, these accidents occur more frequently than most of us realize or would like to believe. And it appears that a large number of these incidents are occurring on the job: according to the U.S. Department of Labor, slip-and-fall injuries are the third largest cause of workplace injuries, causing more than 100 million lost workdays every year.
