On Behalf of | Jun 26, 2017 | Product Liability

The Bergen County product liability attorneys at Breslin and Breslin are reporting that brands of hummus sold at popular grocery stores and retailers, including Walmart, Giant Eagle and Stop & Shop, are being recalled for possible listeria.

The listeria was from pine nuts in the hummus supplied by Hudson Valley Farms Inc., which discovered the pathogen in its production facility, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The following products were sold nationwide at grocery stores from April 18 to June 13:

  • Fresh Foods Market Artisan Hummus with pine nuts sold in a container with a clear lid edge
  • Lantana White Bean Hummus with Pine Nut & Herb Topping sold in a container with a white or beige striped lid edge
  • Marketside Classic Hummus with Pine Nuts sold in a container with a solid black lid edge

House of Thaller, a Tennessee-based company, which distributed the products, launched the recall after being informed of the issue by Hudson Valley Farms, the FDA said.
